This course aims to train delegates to OFSTEDand PFAA standards for delivering First Aid for Babies andYoung Children.

A casualty whose heart has stopped

Bone, Joint and Muscle Injuries
Effects of Temperature
Childhood Ailments and Medical Emergencies
Administrationof Medication and Record Keeping
Dressings and First Aid Kits
Delegates are required to be physicallyfit and have the aptitude and ability to cope with anintense course of study and practical activity.
Previous attendance on a First Aid course would beadvantageous.
Suitability
This course is intended for nursery nurses or people incharge of, or working with, babies and young children.
Typical interest groups
Teachers, Welfare Assistants, Care Assistants, MiddaySupervisors, Play Leaders/Assistants.
Qualification
The course will be assessed on a continual basis by the tutor and also by Peer Assessment the resulting evidence can be used for NVQ purposes
Assessment in Early Years Care and Education.
Delegates will also receive a First Aid Certificate forChildminders which will be valid for 3 years
